Introduction
The EIA Undergraduate Certificate in Business has been designed to carefully package foundation knowledge and skills in business which can directly address employer needs. Consequently, EIA Undergraduate Certificate graduates will be well prepared for numerous entry level roles across industry sectors, including marketing assistant, marketing officer, social media marketer, bookkeeper, business support administrator, administration officer. The Undergraduate Certificate includes employability skills for immediate work-readiness in entry level roles.

The student must be an Australian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen.
Students must be at least eighteen (18) years old at the commencement of the course. Students must fulfil the following requirement.
Academic Entry Requirement
Applicants with recent secondary education
- Successful completion of Victorian Certificate of Education, VCAL or equivalent in your state or territory, OR
- Successful completion of the International Baccalaureate (IB).
Applicants with recent higher education study
- Successful completion of a Higher Education qualification, OR
- Successful completion of at least one semester/trimester of full-time study at a registered higher education provider.
Applicants who do not meet either of these requirements will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
English Language Proficiency Requirement
There is no English language proficiency requirement for domestic students.
This course is NOT available to onshore international students.

Applicants with recent higher education study
- Successful completion of a Higher Education qualification, OR
- Successful completion of at least one semester/trimester of full-time study at a registered higher education provider, OR
- Successful completion of a foundation program from an Australian Higher Education Provider.
Applicants who do not meet either of these requirements will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
English Language Proficiency Requirement
International students must meet the minimum English language proficiency requirements for entry into EIA’s Undergraduate Certificate in Business course. There are several ways to demonstrate English language proficiency, listed below are the minimum scores/requirement for EIA’s Undergraduate Certificate in Business course.
- IELTS Academic*: overall band score of 6.0 with no band lower than 5.5 or equivalent, OR
- Completion of any Australian Diploma or higher, OR
- Â Students have been schooled in an English-speaking country, OR
- Successfully completed a minimum of two (2) years study in a post-secondary course using English as a main medium of instruction**, OR
- Satisfactory completion of at least one semester of study in Australia in a tertiary course (successfully completed 50% or more of the semester load), OR
- Students completed an ELICOS course recognised by EIA to meet the English entry requirement.
*IELTS Academic test scores are only valid for two (2) years old at the commencement of the course.
** Medium Instruction of English is assessed against the Country Education Profiles (CEP) of the Australian Government, Department of Education, Skills and Employment.
Applicants with recent vocational study
- Successful completion of a Certificate IV qualification; OR
- Successful completion of a Diploma or Higher within the last ten (10) years.
Applicants with work/life experience
Applications reviewed on a case-by-case basis from persons of at least 21 years of age, who do not have formal qualifications for entry but who seek admission based on their educational and skills development through experience and informal study.
